Make a Commitment to a Healthy Way of Life.

If you’ve been reading One Run at a Time for any length of time, you know that I’m a Life Time Fitness groupie fan. Since I joined back in January, it’s become my home away from home.

Coming from a girl who always hated going to the gym, that statement is nothing short of a miracle.

Life Time is known as “The Healthy Way of Life” company. Now, they’re taking it to next level.

Commitment Day is a nation-wide movement to change the way we live.

As an outdoor educator and athlete, I’m an advocate for an active, healthy lifestyle, but this wasn’t always the case. 2 years ago, I was 50 pounds overweight and miserable, and unfortunately, my story is not unusual.

1 in 3 Americans is obese. 105 million have cardiovascular disease.

Children spend 30% of their time in front of a screen. They also experience more stress and anxiety disorders, higher rates of ADHD, poor motor function, and myopia because of it.

Enough is enough.

In over 30 cities across the country, 300,000 people will come together in the name of healthy living, to start a revolution.

And you have the chance to be a part of it.

When you register for Commitment Day, whether you are a Life Time member or not, you can also take part in an 8-week training program through Life Time Run.

That’s 8 weeks of accountability, 8 weeks of new running buddies, of pushing yourself toward new goals, of opening new doors.

Starting on Monday November 5th at Life Time locations all over the country, the journey begins.

And, really, the timing couldn’t be better, what with Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner…

Whether you’ve run countless races before, or this will be your first, I can guarantee that this experience will change you.

I can tell you where I will be on November 5th, and I can tell you where I hope to be on January 1st.

At the finish line, breathless, having just run a 22-minute 5k.

So the question remains:

on Monday, November 5th, where will you be?
